INTERVIEW ON THE 2022 PHILIPPINE ELECTIONS By Edna Becher, Radyo Pawikan in Zurich, Switzerland May 11, 2022

Because Philippine society is semicolonial and semifeudal, the Communist Party of the Philippines as the vanguard of the proletariat has adopted as general line or program the people’s democratic revolution with a socialist perspective. The socialist stage of the Philippine revolution can commence upon the basic completion of the people’s democratic revolution through the seizure of political power by the proletariat in a protracted people’s war.

We hereby express our sincerest condolences to Ka Marie’s bereaved family, comrades and friends and share with them their grief over her demise and their joy over her great achievements in serving the Filipino people, joining them in their national and social liberation and championing human rights against violations committed during the Marcos fascist dictatorship and during the post-Marcos regimes.

First of all, I wish to thank the Friends of the Filipino People in Struggle (FFPS/FRIENDS) for inviting me to speak at this conference with the theme, “Building Solidarity for the Filipino People in Struggle” in order to celebrate the 1st anniversary of the revival of FRIENDS and the 49th anniversary of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines and to strengthen international solidarity with the Filipino people in their revolutionary struggle for national and social liberation.

Dear Comrades and Friends, It is a great honor for me, as Founding Chairman of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP), to join the Commemoration of the International Day for the Freedom of Revolutionary Political Prisoners and the 4th Meeting of the International Coordinating Committee for Solidarity and for the Freedom of Revolutionary Political Prisoners of the World in the city of Oaxaca, Mexico on April 23 and 24.

Romana, especially his wife Nancy and their children Norman and Christopher. We are deeply saddened by his passing away. At the same time, we are comforted by his achievements as an intellectual, journalist, academic and public servant.

I make this testimony to establish the basis of my complaint against Facebook and to signify my joining the Collective Facebook as a collective action lawsuit to compel legal recognition of Facebook as a public domain that should be under ownership and control of its users: Facebook must be collectivized.
