Lenin at 150: Lenin Lives!

-

Founding Chair of the re-established Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) in 1968, one of the founders of the New People’s Army (NPA) in 1969, current Chief Political Consultant of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP), Comrade Joma Sison penned influential revolutionary classics, Philippine Society and Revolution and Struggle for Nationalism and Democracy. Anti-imperialist activists, revolutionaries, unionists, scholars, and peace-loving citizens worldwide benefit from his continuous revitalization of Marxism-Leninism-Mao Zedong Thought made available through his numerous books.

In June 2019, Comrade Joma Sison was honored by the International League of Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS) as its Chair Emeritus in recognition of his painstaking efforts at organizing the world’s largest international anti-imperialist formation. His invaluable contributions to the Philippine revolution and revolutionary internationalism is reflected by the League’s theme in its latest assembly in Hong Kong: “Win a bright socialist future for humanity! Unite the people to fight against imperialist plunder, war, racism and fascism!”

For the #LeninOnLine series of lectures, Comrade Joma Sison will discuss the dire impacts of the global pandemic crisis in connection with Lenin’s teachings on imperialism and the proletarian revolution. His presentation will also focus on Lenin’s historical legacy regarding : (1) the importance of building a strong working-class movement, (2) the importance of revolutionary theory, and (3) the value of strategy and tactics appropriate to current conditions in each country.
