Dear Comrade Chairperson Miguel Angel Canales Sermeno,
Thank you very much for your kind invitation to participate in your activities on June 10 to June 19 to render highly deserved honor to the martyrdom of your 300 war prisoners who were vilely murdered by the fascist Peruvian government on June 19, 1986. They were imprisoned in the jails of the island of Fronton, Lurigancho, and of Callao the main port of your country.
I commend you very highly for commemorating their exemplary heroism, young men and women with tremendous potential to help build the future of your country. They sacrificed their lives to transform your country sunken in hunger, misery and backwardness due to the exploitation of a handful of oppressors and exploiters, landlords and capitalists subservient to US imperialism.
We honor their lives and struggles with the peasants and workers. They died with the struggling peasants and workers in fierce resistance to the exploiters and oppressors and the fascist government.
You and their mourning families have searched for their bodies in the Andes and the valleys. We admire your determination not to give up your sacred right to bury their bodies.
The International League of Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS) joins you in spirit as you commemorate their martyrdom and sacrifice. We commend you for honoring them in this 30 year commemoration while condemning the heinous act of genocide perpetrated by the fascist Peruvian government.
Testimonies of the beloved relatives, with artistic demonstrations, and the inauguration of the mausoleum in their honor will keep alive their inspiration in the hearts of the struggling Peruvian people.
The struggling oppressed and exploited peoples throughout the world, together with the struggling Peruvian people, fighting for national and social liberation, genuine freedom and independence, will draw strength from the sacrifice of your 300 martyrs.
Please convey my most heartfelt greetings of comradeship and solidarity to the Association of Relatives of Political Prisoners, of Missing people and Victims of Genocide of Peru.
Long live the revolutionary spirit of the 300 Peruvian martyrs!
