Under the fascist law of state terrorism, the military and national police can now on their arbitrary judgment and on orders of the Anti-Terrorism Council and NTF-Elcac tag faculty members and students in the University of the Philippines as “communist terrorists” and “terrorist recruiters”, abduct them upon planting of CPP and NPA publications, guns and explosives and violently break up classes, convocations and public assemblies as “communist recruitment sessions”.
Under the fascist Duterte regime, civil and military officials have become far crazier, pathologically anti-communist, than their past counterparts in the 1950s and 1960s during the Cold War and McCarthyite witchhunts. It is high time for the academic and non-academic personnel of the UP to rise up in order to uphold and defend academic freedom and their integrity as a peaceful academic community against the dirty psywar, barbarism, brutality and depravity of the fascist regime and its armed butchers.
