In his recent speech before soldiers at Camp Manuel Y. Tan in Compostela Valley yesterday, President Duterte issued orders to his armed minions in the military and police to destroy the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), including its so-called legal fronts and infrastructure.
He had earlier ordered his armed minions to kill merely suspected actual or potential members of the CPP and New People’s Army (NPA), including the “istambay” in public places. Thus, we understand clearly what Duterte means by “destroying” the CPP and the so-called legal fronts and infrastructure.
He is giving license to his armed minions to kill suspected members of the CPP, legal organizations and just about anyone who criticizes and opposes his tyranny, treason, brutality, corruption and messing up of the economy.
He tells his armed agents that they do not need any court warrant as they can frame-up and kill any victim and play the role of judge and executioner. He exposes himself as an abominable violator of human rights. Relatedly, he has roused his armed minions to show no respect for human rights and human rights organizations.
He is brazenly engaged in mass murders and mass intimidation. He is the mastermind of state terrorism and No. 1 violator of human rights and someone truly deserving of trial by the International Criminal Court as well as by the people’s court of the people’s democratic government.
He has also ordered his armed minions to subject the Lumad people to “hamletting” in order to cut them off from the NPA and to control and manipulate them. His armed minions have been using all sorts of tactics against the Lumad people, including putting up fake Lumad leaders, hamletting, food blockades and gathering the Lumad only to misrepresent them as surrenderers.
As I have pointed out in an earlier statement, Duterte is a bloodthirsty tyrant, whose favorite mantra is kill, kill, kill! Duterte has been utterly merciless to the Filipino people, especially the workers, peasants and other impoverished people. He imposes on them a heavy tax burden and causes the soaring prices of basic commodities. Not satisfied with the daily violence of exploitation, he has given his armed minions license to kill people with impunity on mere suspicion.
Duterte is out of his mind. He keeps on ordering and urging his armed minions to attack the NPA and the people, occupy barangays, to misrepresent people as surrenderers and to kill suspects as they please.
And yet he demands that the NPA ceases fire on days outside of the time frame of the 5-day ceasefire announced by the CPP Central Committee: 12:01 a.m. of December 24, 2018 to 11:59 p.m. of December 26, 2018, and 12:01 a.m. of December 31 to 11:59 p.m. of January 1, 2019.
