Eduardo Sarmiento’s oil painting of Jose Maria Sison’s poem, “The Forest Is Still Enchanted”. The painter Sarmiento is a consultant of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines in peace negotiations with the Manila government and is imprisoned indefinitely and unjustly on trumped up charges of common crimes in violation of the Joint Agreement on Safety and Immunity Guarantees and the Comprehensive Agreement on Respect for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law. He painted Sison’s poem in prison.
