There is group inside the AFP composed of retired and current high command officers called VIBER 300 who demands that Duterte must DENOUNCE China and assert the legal claims of the country in the WPSea.
SND, CSAFP are in talks with their US Counterparts as Duterte continue to evade and downplay China’s near invasion of our maritime jurisdictions – but the Viber 300 was insistent that it was time for Duterte to stop taking China’s side.
So Duterte was already supposed to address the issue when he had the hurried Wednesday evening presscon but he again sidestepped addressing the China encroachment. The Viber 300, now grown to over 500 high echelon officers from all Commands have issued their final warning to Duterte that if Duterte does not take the side of the Philippines against China in the West Philippine Sea – the now Viber 500 WILL WITHDRAW THEIR OFFICIAL SUPPORT TO PRESIDENT DUTERTE AS THEIR COMMANDER IN CHIEF.
The Viber 500 is said to include all retired generals serving under Duterte including Lorenzana, CSAFP and Esperon except Carlito Galvez.
