En nombre del Comité Internacional de Coordinación y de la totalidad de la Liga Internacional de Lucha de los Pueblos (ILPS), deseo expresar solidaridad a los distinguidos invitados, los embajadores de Cuba y Venezuela, a las delegaciones de Filipinas, México, El Salvador, Argentina, Estados Unidos, Venezuela y Honduras y a todos los dirigentes y miembros de las organizaciones guatemaltecas que ahora establecen el capítulo nacional Guatemalteco de la Liga.
Apreciamos en sumo grado que la Fundación Amancio Samuel Villatoro (FASV) haya convocado a las delegaciones de las organizaciones guatemaltecas a fin de crear el capítulo nacional de la Liga en Guatemala en respuesta al llamamiento temático: “Por el esclarecimiento de los Crímenes de Lesa Humanidad, El Derecho a la sindicalización los Derechos Humanos y la Justicia Social en Guatemala ”

La FASV es una distinguida organización miembro de ILPS y su representante, Samuel Villatoro, ha sido elegido miembro del Comité Internacional de Coordinación del ILPS. Con orgullo recordamos que ILPS extendió solidaridad, apoyo y asistencia a FASV en el establecimiento del Museo de los Mártires.

El tema de la asamblea tiene una gran relevancia y urgencia porque incluso antes de que los crímenes de lesa humanidad cometidos en el pasado por el imperialismo yanqui y sus títeres reaccionarios contra el pueblo de Guatemala se expongan totalmente y de que se actúe en consecuencia para dar justicia a todas las víctimas y a sus familias, violaciones de derechos humanos contra el pueblo y los activistas del movimiento antiimperialista y democrático están siendo, de nuevo, flagrantemente cometidas.
Guatemala sigue siendo una sociedad total y profundamente dividida, entre unos pocos opresores y explotadores y sus agentes financiados y engañados seguidores y los muchos oprimidos y explotados, a pesar de que el acuerdo de paz se firmase hace 19 años. El respeto de los derechos humanos en los ámbitos civiles, políticos, económicos, sociales y culturales no se puede garantizar si el pueblo está privado de la verdad absoluta sobre las violaciones de derechos humanos y si se le niega la justicia.
El pueblo de Guatemala puede esperar disfrutar de una vida mejor si la intimidación y las violaciones de los derechos humanos dejan de cernirse sobre el, y si afirma la libertad de exigir y trabajar por la independencia nacional, la democracia, un desarrollo integral, justicia social, solidaridad y paz. Estamos enormemente contentos y satisfechos de que se esté estableciendo el capítulo nacional guatemalteco de la Liga para afirmar, defender y promover estos principios, fines y objetivos.
Os deseamos el mayor de los éxitos en vuestra asamblea fundacional. Estamos seguros de que se ha reunido a las organizaciones antiimperialistas y democráticas más decididas y militantes de Guatemala, de que vais a ratificar un acta constitutiva adaptada a vuestro país y alineada con la Carta Estatutaria de ILPS y de que elegiréis a un liderazgo eficaz entre los representantes de vuestras organizaciones miembros.
¡Esperamos con interés la expansión y fortalecimiento de vuestro capítulo nacional y de las organizaciones miembro a través una lucha resuelta y militante en defensa del interés nacional y democrático del pueblo de Guatemala y de los pueblos del mundo!
¡Viva la memoria de los mártires revolucionarios y héroes de Guatemala!
¡Luchad por la libertad, la verdad y la justicia y continuad la lucha nacional y democrática!
¡Viva el pueblo de Guatemala y su causa revolucionaria!

MESSAGE OF SOLIDARITY TO THE FOUNDERS
OF THE GUATEMALA CHAPTER OF ILPS

On behalf of the International Coordinating Committee and entirety of the International League of Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS), I wish to express solidarity to the distinguished guests, the Cuban and Venezuelan ambassadors, the delegations from the Philippines, Mexico, El Salvador, Argentina, the United States, Venezuela and Honduras and the all the leaders and members of Guatemalan organizations now establishing the Guatemala national chapter of the League.
We highly appreciate the initiative of the Fundacion Amancio Samuel Villatoro (FASV) in convening the delegations of Guatemalan organizations in order to create the national chapter of the League in Guatemala in response to the thematic call: Through the clarification of the crimes against humanity, the right to unionization, human rights and social justice in Guatemala, No more imperialist interference!
The FASV is a distinguished member-organization of the ILPS and its representative Compañero Samuel Villatoro has been elected to the International Coordinating Committee of the ILPS. We are proud to recall that the ILPS extended solidarity, support and assistance to the FASV in the establishment of the Museo der los Martires.

The theme od the assembly is highly important and pressing because even before the crimes against humanity committed in the past by Yankee imperialism and its reactionary puppets against the people of Guatemala are totally exposed and acted upon to give justice to all the victims and their families, human rights violations are being flagrantly committed anew against the people and the activists in the anti-imperialist and democratic movement.
Guatemala continues to be a totally and sharply divided society between the few oppressors and exploiters and their paid agents and misled followers and the many oppressed and exploited even after 19 years after the signing of the peace agreement. Respect for human rights in the civil, political, economic, social and cultural fields cannot be guaranteed if the people are deprived of the complete truth concerning human rights violations and if justice is denied.
The people of Guatemala can hope to enjoy a better life if they are not under the shadow of intimidation and human rights violations and they assert the freedom to demand and work for national independence, democracy, all-round development, social justice, solidarity and peace. We are deeply pleased that the Guatemala national chapter of the League is being established to uphold, defend and advance these principles, aims and objectives.
We wish your founding assembly the utmost success. We are confident that you have brought together the most resolute and militant anti-imperialist and democratic organizations in Guatemala, that you will ratify a chapter constitution adapted to your country and aligned with the ILPS Charter and that you will elect an effective leadership among the representatives of your member-organizations.
We look forward to the expansion and further strengthening of your national chapter and member-organizations through resolute and militant struggle in the national and democratic interest of the people of Guatemala and the people of the world!
Long live the memory of the revolutionary martyrs and heroes of Guatemala!
Fight for freedom, truth and justice and carry forward the national and democratic struggle!
